Terms of Service

Effective date: 30 August 2026

These Terms govern your use of sgfoto.app (the “Service”), operated by Mirror Lake Pte. Ltd. (trading as Mirror Lake Studio; “we”, “us”), Singapore. By using the Service you agree to them.

1. What the Service does

You upload a photo of yourself and choose a document type. The Service produces a portrait photo formatted to that document’s published specifications — size, background colour, head position — using an AI step for the background and attire, and your own real face for the face itself.

Important. We are an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government, embassy or issuing authority. We format your photo to published specifications; we cannot guarantee that any authority will accept it. Acceptance is always decided by the issuing authority.

2. Pricing

ItemPrice
Watermarked preview (low resolution)Free
High-resolution download, no watermark — per photoSGD 1.99
Same photo, second document (new size, new file)SGD 1.99
A4 print sheet of photos you have already boughtFree
Redo a photo that didn’t turn out rightFree

Prices are in Singapore Dollars and include any applicable taxes. Payment is a one-time charge per photo — there is no subscription and nothing recurring. Free previews are limited to a small number per account per day so that the Service stays available to everyone.

3. If the photo isn’t right

You see a free preview of your actual photo before you pay, so you always know what you are buying. If something is still wrong afterwards, this is what happens:

  1. You don’t have a usable photo yet — the generation failed, the download is broken, or the file won’t open. We keep redoing it free until you have a working photo. You are never charged again for this.
  2. You have the photo but it isn’t right — tell us what is wrong and we redo it free, with advice on taking a photo that works better.
  3. Still not right after that: we refund 50%, and you keep the photo. Each generation costs us real AI processing at the moment you press the button, and that cost is not recoverable — which is why a refund of a delivered photo is partial.
You get 100% back in two situations only:
  1. A duplicate charge — you were billed twice for the same download (the same photo and the same document). Choosing a second document for a photo you already bought is a separate purchase, not a duplicate charge.
  2. We cannot deliver the file at all — meaning we are unable to give you a file that opens and matches the published pixel size of the document you chose (for example 600 × 600 for a US visa). This is about the file itself, not about how you look in it and not about whether an authority accepts it — those follow the free-redo and 50% route above.

Email us within 14 days of the charge from the address you paid with. Refunds go back to your original payment method, normally within 5 business days. If you believe a charge was made without your permission, please contact us before disputing it with your bank: we will check the purchase against the account it was made from, and where it was not authorised by you we refund it in full. Purchases made from your own signed-in account, where the photo was delivered, are handled under the free-redo and 50% route above.

4. Your photo, your responsibility

5. Accounts

You sign in with Google or Apple. Keep your account secure; you are responsible for what happens under it. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service, attempt to bypass usage limits, or break these Terms.

6. Availability

The Service depends on third-party providers and is offered “as is”. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. If a generation fails because of a fault on our side, we do not consume your free allowance, and you are not charged.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by Singapore law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the photo in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including, for the avoidance of doubt, the rejection of an application by any authority, or costs arising from a missed deadline.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
